They hold what AI engines look for
first-hand experience, specific opinions and fresh content on almost every topic. In the AI answers Yozigo analysed between 5 and 20 September 2026, Reddit was cited for 15 different brands, LinkedIn for 14 and YouTube for 14, more than any other domain.
Unlike review sites or major media, these are platforms where your team can publish or take part directly. That makes them the fastest third-party surfaces most brands can influence.

How do you use YouTube to get cited in Google's AI answers?
YouTube is where Google's AI features pull hardest: one in ten AI Mode citations in our data. Make short explainers that answer one buyer question each, such as "how to track brand mentions in ChatGPT". Say the answer in the first 30 seconds, put the question in the title, and write a full description and chapters so the content is readable as text.
Upload captions or check the automatic ones, since a transcript is what an engine can quote. Then embed the video on the matching page of your site so both reinforce each other.
How do you use LinkedIn to get cited?
LinkedIn was the most-cited domain by volume (5,271 citations) and made up 4.8% of Perplexity's citations. Long-form LinkedIn articles and detailed posts from named experts perform best, because they carry a person, a claim and often a number.
Publish your original data there first, with the method in one sentence. Keep your company page description identical to your site's, since engines compare them. Yozigo's LinkedIn Writer can draft and publish these for you; see AI employees.
How do you use Reddit without getting banned?
Reddit was cited for the most brands (15) and made up 2.1% of Gemini's citations. The rule is simple: answer real questions, disclose who you work for, and link only when it genuinely helps. Moderators remove promotional posts, and removed posts can't be cited.
Find threads that AI already cites for your buyer questions (Yozigo lists them under Sources), then add a useful, specific answer. One good reply on a thread AI already trusts beats ten new posts.
Read Reddit's rules and each subreddit's own rules before posting.
What about Wikipedia, G2 and Medium?
Wikipedia was cited for 13 brands and matters most for ChatGPT, which took 3.0% of its citations from knowledge hubs. You can't write your own entry, but you can make sure your company is notable enough to be referenced. G2 was cited for 9 brands, so a complete, reviewed profile is worth the effort in software categories. Medium (11 brands) works like LinkedIn for long-form writing.
